The Dmitri Young Collection on Display

Dmitri Young, first baseman for the Washington Nationals, enjoys this hobby . . . . in a big way!! His collection has become very well known among the collecting community, known simply as the Dmitri Young Collection. It’s a collection that consists of the highest graded rookie cards of the greatest players from the 1950’s to the present. Just about all of these rookies are graded PSA Gem-Mt 10, and many of them are th only example in that grade.

Seeing some of these cards in such pristine condition simply had me in awe and made me drool a bit. Luckily the guy watching the case was cool with it.

Below are just a few examples from his collection, all of which are on display at the PSA booth at the 2008 National Sports Collectors Convention:

And, of course, such a collection as this would hardly be complete without some gem-mint examples of Delmon Young (yes, I know it’s his brother, but among such other great cards, it just seemed a bit out of place):
