My Nationals Experience, Day 3 Wrap Up

Farewells, flight cancellations, and blue shots.  Well, after 12 1/2 hours of perusing the show the previous two days, and some not so spicy Chinese delivery the night before, I was all set for a busy Friday.  Packed up and checked out, I was ready to make the most of my final day, both in terms of browsing the show and spending time with the TCGers arriving that day.  The morning session led me to a couple deals on graded prospects, but did not have any success finding some of the vintage issues I was looking for.  Zeeck, Northcutfan, Sliqwill and Bounty arrived shortly after noon so it was nice to hang out, peruse the show and enjoy overpriced beer, soda and burgers.  Heading back to the hotel while they checked in figured would be nice to relax before my flight.  Bama and Pistonsfan arrived from their drive in from Philly so got to meet them, but then the fun began.  Phileagle’s flight from Philly was cancelled, as half the room got a simultaneous text message from him, which led me to shortly discover my flight back to Hartford (through Philly) was also cancelled.  Sliq, Northcut and Bounty headed off to the Indians game, while after my USAir situation was resolved the rest of us headed out in Brian’s good ship lollipop and went in search of food.  Not sure how we chose a German restaurant, but food was good, barmaid was sassy, and the beer and shots were flowing (still not sure what that blue liquor was).  I’ll leave it to others to fill in what they did all night, while I had to crash early so I could make my morning flight home.  As always my National’s Experience went way to fast, but at least I was able to come and spend some time once again.  Oh, and parting thanks to Zeeck for shipping my laptop power chord back to me overnight, problem of 5:30 am packing you forget things….
