Ok get this...

Bought a 99 cent card on ebay, and paid $2.75 for s/h. Shame on me for not paying attention, but ok, lesson learned. I get the card today PWE style  with the following note:

http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa241/TheWhiteDelight/2004%20Casey%20Clausen/crap.jpg

Are you kidding me? $2.75 can't get a bubble mailer from MN to OK?

I'm seriously considering firing off a nastygram when I leave feedback. In the auction it specifically states:

"Buyer to add $2.75 for shipping in bubble mailer to US or Canada. I will ship to other countries for $3.75 total."

Thoughts?

id ask for a shipping refund, its not your fault...it is still possible to ship for $2.75 with DC/supplies, but at that price the seller makes $0.00 on shipping...tell him your card is damaged due to poor shipping methods :D

I would first ask for a refund of the diffrence. If they refuse, slap the negative. They shouldnt state bubble mialer, if they arent using ine.

I sent them this message:

Auction description states:

"Buyer to add $2.75 for shipping in bubble mailer to US or Canada. I will ship to other countries for $3.75 total."

Although I've received the enclosed explanation included with my item, I feel I basically paid $2.75 for a 10-cent envelope and a 40-cent stamp. I'd appreciate some sort of resolution to the obvious shipping overcharge.

I wonder if you could do an "item not as described" dispute through paypal because he didn't live up to his stated policies in the auction

very annoying either way, and hope it works out fine for you.

Just got this back:

Thank you for your email. The amount is for shipping and handling, which includes:
.41 stamp, .10 envelope, .02 return address label, .01 soft sleeve, .10 top loader, .40 gas,.10 wear on vehicle, .02 scotch tape, .10 final value fee Ebay, .80 listing fee (16 months in store), .03 Prorated Store Ebay fee, .41 Paypal fee to process = $2.65. Mailers use to be .53 now are $1.13. If I did that I could never have cheaper items like this in the store. I could have upped my shipping/handling to $3.50 like most other sellers, or raised the price of the card in the store.

Forward the email on to Ebay. It is illigal to charge for the ebay fees :)

They will have some explaining to do at the least.

id file with paypal as well as ebay for 'circumvention of fees' since sellers are not allowed to add fees for the price of listings or FVF or paypal fees

this is also true, and in the feedback thing there are now 4 sections to rate the seller on shipping

.41 stamp--Normal price
.10 envelope--I know it doesnt cost me $10 for 100 envelopes. Should be around 4 or 5 cents each
.02 return address label--Just write the damn thing on, then its free
.01 soft sleeve--Normal price again
.10 top loader--Normal price again
.40 gas--If you used paypal shipping, you wouldnt have to worry about gas
.10 wear on vehicle--WTF?
.02 scotch tape--Again, WTF? Just steal some from work
.10 final value fee--What?
.80 listing fee--Against ebay policy
.03 prorated ebay fee--Look above
.41 paypal fee--Look 2 spots above

My total comes to 57 cents. I could probably ship it to you for that much Rake:)

As much of an ass as that seller is, you hafta admire the way he tried to undig himself of that overcharge. Still.. very good points on listed as a bubble mailer and trying to get you to pay eBay fees... TORCH him!!!

That was the most unbelievable load of BS I have ever read. If he can "prove" that PWE shipping costs $2.75, I should be charging $15 for bubble mailer and delivery confirmation
Forward that to ebay and be sure to drop a neg on them.

you've either just been punk'd or you're dealing with a world-class douchebag. That's farking ridiculous. He's charging you for scotch tape? Again, I'd like to reiterate the level of Dbaggery happening. If this idiot was so concerned with shipping prices, he'd either raise his shipping fees or eliminate the "bubble mailer" comment. Gas? Vehicle wear and tear? That makes me want to puke. I hope ebay shoves that email he sent you up his dumb ass.

man, that made me mad. I think you should go after him.

you can turn him into ebay, sort of like we do for shill accounts. you can do an Item not as described claim on him because he described he was sending in a bubble mailer, and he raped you for a pwe. i can pick up bubble mailers up here for $5.43 for 10 little ones and $2.47 for 5 larger ones. he could ship for less doing paypal shipping and really is it your fault for him having a crappy car? he chose to sell on ebay.

yes everything has gone up, stamps and gas, but please, most of you have higher gas prices than i do and i'm still getting stuff for $3 dlvd.

i can't believe he broke it down like that, the ebay fees are part of the final value anyways, maybe ebay should charge him for the little magazine they send out to him showing off the stuff you can buy and find on ebay

After I inquired about his inflated shipping fees, he had this to say:

"If you send the card back I will give you a full refund. It's not worth the time to argue about this. Let me know if you want a refund. Thanks, Steve"

Oh, and the .02 return address label he itemized? It's one of those free ones that companies send you to sweet-talk you into buying their products...how do I know?

I just sent him this reply:

Forget it. Obviously the item description was inaccurate concerning the bubble mailer, but the itemized cost listing used as an attempt to justify the unreasonable shipping charges was ridiculous. Gas? Wear on vehicle? Come on. It's a measly $2.75, but at least try to be honest in your descriptions, instead of using such "bait and switch" shipping maneuvers. I'll not contact you again about the matter. Good day.

By his own admission, seller inflates s/h to cover ebay fees. Unreal.
