View Full Version : Xbox 360 symptoms
I have no red lights of Death, but the console freezes everytime a game starts to load, and the screen turns a wonderful shade of multi-colored pixellation. Is my console going to die?
Scratch that, we now have the Red Ring of Death.

I got the red ring myself right now. Crashed and froze during COD4 last weekend. There's a little place in the mail that says they can fix it for $125 but I'm debating just going new.

Ummmm, you are aware that you are under warranty for it to be fixed for free?

I called them and gave my serial number and they said it's too old. Got it right when they released...

That's BS, they are supposed to have an extended warranty for everyone. I bought mine last Jan, which is pretty close to the original launch it went down a couple of months ago and they fixed it. You need to call them back.

why are these things failing so much? seems pretty shady that they are quitting this quickly and they arent fixing them all

I was told the CPU heat sinks were coated with a faulty thermal paste and thus were prone to over heat. Also was told that they would only warranty defaults of this nature for 1 year from purchase if you had your reciept or 6 months from the date you registered the serial number.

Xbox extended the warranty back at E3 because they know that a lot of systems are going to fail.
