Don't know how many of you have been following this, but Pakistan is set to hold free elections next month. They're reporting that it's an opposing political party that attacked Bhutto, who is the main competition for the current President of Pakistan, Musharraf, the same guy that declared marshall law about a month ago and suspended Pakistan's constitution.
I couldn't imagine having that kind of atmosphere around election time. Nor could I ever imagine suddenly no longer having my constitutional rights.

I wouldnt be surprised if he is getting set up. When she first came back they wouldn't let her hold a rally in the same area for security concerns. Regardless it isn't a fun time to be in Pakistan. Not to mention you have a nuclear armed country that is just nuts right now, ally or not. How do you think India feels about now...

What a shame, what a god damn shame:( The whole region is going to hell in a handbasket in my opinion
Now I have no evidence to back up this pretty ridiculous claim, but if Clinton is elected next year, we may have a harder time negotiating with many countries in the Middle East (yes, they negotiate with Condolezza, but they know she is not the leader of our country).
Please note that I definitely do not opposse a woman president, but because of the religion we are dealing with, now may not be the time in my opinion. I will not argue with anyone over this, as I have no evidence to back this up, but I thought I would throw it out there:salut:

I loathe Hillary, but countries will negotiate with her because they have no chice as the US is still top dog around the globe.
Scary thing is Pakistan is nuclear, we need stability in that country.

I am surprised this hasn't gotten more play here. This could be the beginning of a very large war in the Middle East

Very, very sad story
She was dead the minute she went back to Pakistan tho. There have been a couple of other attempts on her life before this, it was only a matter of time before they succeeded

Not trying to be an ass, but I am surprised she survived as long as she did. They have been after her since she returned......

According to the BBC, she saw the gunman and actually died when she broke her neck trying to get back into the car and was never actually shot. What a tragic way to go :(

Sad, but, she knew the risks. Now, that just intensifies everything else around the world. Why this isn't getting more play in the Presidential jive, is beyond me. We're all doomed.
