instead of banning the 8 cent per gallon gas tax in alaska, our house of reps decided they would give $1200 for each person who was eligible for the PFD to offset the gas prices.
what do they know that we don't yet? 8 cents less would take us down to $4.31 a gallon right now. who knows what it will be in a few months. barrel prices went down but our gas prices haven't.
i dont think that $1200 is going to do a whole lot. i'm sure everyone will end up with a new tv or something they don't need. but the catch is, if our PFD's turn out over 3K the $1200 is just and "advance". how can it be an advance if it's being offered?
