Am I missing something?
It appears Georgia killed a bunch of South Ossetian residents when the Soviet Union broke apart. South Ossetia wants to be free of Georgian rule.
We can not champion "spreading democracy" and then turn around and give aid to Georgia just because we still think the Cold War is going on.
Russia has handled this poorly as always but Georgia appears to be the instigator in this conflict from the brief reading ive done on the modern history of the region.
Any experts care to help shed some light on why we are over there?
