I think this video is a good illustration of feelings in America today. If you did not support war, you are against the troops and supporting freedom. People seem to forget we should have ended this back in 1992 (1, losing track of first invasion). This wasn't purely about rights of people of other countries to be free, if it were there is a long line of people waiting for us to come in about now, one country sitting just about 60 miles south of Florida. People easily forget Iraq under Hussein was a stabalizing counterweight in the middleeast for us, kept Iran and the arab nations in check. Liberating Kuwait was a noble cause, sending our troops to defend american freedom is a noble cause, but don't lose sight that Iraq was in no way shape or form supporting the terrorists we were so worried about. My concern is once we are gone, unlike America which seperates church and state, you'll have iraq torn apart into some internal civil war by its' duling factions.

Calling something a mistake is not as horrible a thing as it sounds. The war in Iraq was a mistake, but so was Columbus rediscovering America. Good things can come from mistakes. It is a good thing to promote freedom. But Iraq did not have the worst dictator. There is a reason why we are in Iraq and not Sudan, and it has nothing to do with freedom.

There is also financial costs to look at. Our economy is in very dire straights, the Iraqi government has a huge surplus (80 billion I want to say), and we are spending 5 to 10 billion per month in Iraq. I'm certainly not meaning to minimize the work our brave soldiers are doing, but it is a huge mistake to try and wage 2 wars far from the USA when our economy is unstable.

Seen this before. I understand people against the war but alot of people lives have gotten better because of it and we are safer now. Yes of course we had something to gain besides spreading democracy but that is what makes it a win win. They benefit and so do we.

It was a mistake to go in there totally unprepared, no strategy for the way in or the way out. GWB sent many a young American to their death. I feel bad for each and every family who's child was lost in the false claim it was in the name of spreading democracy.

That was not the claim when we went there. We went there because of the weapons of mass destruction and the UN made use wait almost 90 days before letting us go in which gave them plenty of time to hide and move everything. Spreading Democracy is the result. As for the families that goes both ways. Those soldiers died in order to bring an entire nation hope and the ability to be free. As for the ones who did not want to go. Should have thought about that before signing the contract no one said the college money was free this is not a draft everyone who went went on their own and served there country. I am proud of them.

The result has not been perfect and this should been done in 92 but all and all this war has not been that bad and we have not lost as many soldiers as peopel try to make it sound. This is nothing like Vietnam we have had the upper hand this whole time. The bad thing is how many soldiers were killed by freindly fire just shows we need more training!!

Now Iraq used WMD (Gas) in their war with Iran, but I sincerely believe they were not in possession of anything when we invaded, and it seems all the reports now of the 'pre war' intelligence indicate that is and was always the case.

Still the 550 tons of yellow cake uranium found there does say they were up to something it was in direct violation of the sanctions put against them.
