(well, since we rip I just decided well anyway....)
Did you vote? (Today or before with early/absentee), post yourself here. I haven't voted YET so this is just to start the thread, i'll be ripping the vote later. Feel free to share experiences good/bad with voting, but no political bs.

I voted yesterday. I only had about a 45 minute wait. Not too bad except for being sick and being sent home from work. Figured I may as well vote to get it done between "breaks"

I never registered in the county where I am in now  Have to drive over an hour to vote because of my laziness. Oh well, there could be worse thing than listening to sports talk on a nice day like it is here. Hopefully the lines won't be too bad, will be leaving in the next hour or so to try to beat the rush.

I just voted. No waiting but I was registered twice, which was interesting. I told them to let me vote twice but they said no. :(
I also said, "My wife would love it if there were two of me." and the old man at the desk said, "Especially on Saturday!". We all had a chuckle. Then I voted for Obama so I can say I voted for the winner... ;)

I will be voting when I get off work today. Since I live in Cali my guess is Obama will be doing his acceptance speech while I am voting for McCain. Oh well also already been told today I can not wear my McCain shirt to go vote. Kinda a odd rule I think.
I voted Absentee a month ago. I am hoping that Prop 8 does NOT pass.
I waited for around 45 minutes and was voter 574. I realized that I was one of maybe 10 people under the age of 50 there and the others were kids who had the day off of school. We have the touch screen voting machines and the worker tried to explain to me how they worked and I told her I could figure it out since I used one in the primaries and I know how to use new technology

You know that is how he would sign things too if Hell Froze over and he won.

we don't have sidewalks on our over passes, encourages people to use the bike path for walking (and it leads them into bear territory, but that's ok)

Me either. Me, my brother, mom and girlfriend all voted against it. I'm surprised (not really, when I think about it) how close the numbers are in this prop.
Got back from voting a while ago. Uneventful and didn't have to wait... just the way I like it. However, I wouldn't have been opposed to getting into a "debate" with some "Yes on 8" religious nut. :P
Voted for Obama. Noone was there except for poll workers :) And sadly I was related to 2 of the 6 of them!!

Prop 8 wasn't on mine.
Since you are a new voter i won't mock you, prop 8 is a california proposition. Each election you vote on national, state, city/county elections and propositions. Eg, in Connecticut we had two statewide questions:
(1) Does CT hold a Constitutional Convention (so they can ban gay marriage, only reason why called for);
(2) If someone is of eligible voting age for election day (18) should they be allowed to vote in primary even if only 17.
then my city had two budget propositions, one each to rebuild bridges. Funny thing, one of the bridges is already torn down and half under construction

We had 2 things fail I wish had passed.
It is a law capping the PayDay lending places interest rate to 28% meaning they will all be closing down and it limits it to only 4 times per year a person can use them if needed.
(JOB LOSSES)
and The other was the Prop to build a $600 Million Casino that would bring in tax money and 10,000 jobs to maintain it let alone the jobs to build it and the tax $$ from it.

What's the most sickening about it is that they ran their campaign full of lies and fear. The sad thing is that so many Californians fell for it despite the Republican governor, all of the major cities' mayors, and Feinstein urging them to vote No. Freaking idiots.

I do not understand California they claim to be Leberal and then they have the chance to vote against a bill that is complelty right wing and they pass it. The whole campain was stupid:
their points
1. Churchs will lose money from not getting tax breaks
Complete BS Churchs would not lose a dime in tax breaks or otherwise all churchs have the right to no marry anyone same sex or not. Plus the people I know that are gay say they would not want to get married in a church anyways most would go Justic of the peace.
2. They will teach same sex in schools
Stupid NO they would not. They do not teach marriage in school at all why would they start now?
It ticks me off that "all men are created equal" yet these A holes want to chose how equal everyone is. Everyone should be allowed to be married and know the joys and pains of it. I do not know what to say it just pisses me off to see people repressed
