That is not how it works. There will be a emergency reelection in which case it would not surprise me if she ran for the Rep ticket and won it. It would be a very smart move for her. She would have covered all levels of Government and learned from it all. I knwo alot of you do not like her but I think there is alot fo good about her she seems to care and that is something I normaly do not think about Rep's, Dems, or Indies

this morning on the news they said they would have an emergency vote within the next 3 months to replace him. Heard it on Fox news radio and also on CNBC.

The 17th Amendment (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/55/17th_Amendment_Pg1of1_AC.jpg)grants states (governors empowered byt their legislature to do so) to fill the positions temporarily until election can be held. If she appointed herself she would then just run to keep it after the time period, whatever it is 3 months or something.

She could apoint herself and then run for the office in 3 months on the emergency vote? Hmm makes since. I misunderstood your orginal thread I thought you ment she would appoint herself and do hsi full term without an election. Either way she should run for the Senate seat it would be smart for her.
If I never hear of her again, I would be very happy. I don't want a supposed 'average' Joe making decisions that affect the country, and especially not when that 'average' Joe talks as if they are so uneducated. She really doesn't believe that dinosaurs and humans cohabitated the Earth, right?

Well she is a Christian and in the christain faith the do tend to beleive that Humans did not evolve from animals so my gues sis yes she probably does not think Dinos and Humans were here together. To be fair there is no proof to prove that the Earth was cohabitated so maybe she is right :)

You cannot prove that 2 entities did not cohabitate. I cannot conceive how that could even be done. But of all the dinosaur and human/early man fossils, isn't it stunning that there is no overlap? The newest dinosaur fossils are millions of years older than the oldest human fossils.

I understand that I am only saying you can nto prove they did either so to me both arguments are fair and no one is worng for believing either way.

ouch my head hurts now
either way i think she will end up in the senate. our other senator (murkowski) was appointed by her dad when he won Governor of AK (he ended up losing to Palin).
i definately see her at least in the senate for a term and than running for pres/vice pres
she isn't as uneducated as a lot of people think she is. mccain's speechwriters did not allow her to be herself in the speeches. i have seen countless speeches of hers (in person and on tv) and being an average joe up here plays well. we have all walks of life up here, but the middle class and lower class seem to understand her more cause she does know what it's like to wonder where your next check is coming from (her hubby is a commercial fisherman and in the years after Exxon Valdez we are still seeing effects in the salmon runs)
