View Full Version : NCAA 09 Heisman level is evil...

So I'm finally about to win, up 7-3 pc has to drive 80 yards in minute. So of course they do, but then no time left stop them at the 20 or so.... call a personal foul facemask on me, no time left runs one more play and scores a td...... :ban::ban::ban::ban::ban:
Don't even bother playing defense on Heisman, the computer cheats either way whether you use SuperSim or actually play it so idk. I hate that game.

I play way too much online NCAA Football. Heisman is tricky especially if the team has way more talent then yours.
Online Dynasties are way too addicting!
Let's start an online dynasty.

On Heisman level? I'm impressed. I think the pc is about 85% successful on third downs, and 95% of the time they go for it on 4th. First/2nd down do ok, its third down when no matter what you do, who you bring who you drop they just make the yards they need or more. The Really irritating thing is when they bounce of my pc tacklers, where I will be brought down by one guy being blocked by two. Offense i'm still learning plays all the motion and crap getting better, INTs are big issues. Not just when in coverage but from line of site, even if going 30 yards down field if i throw over a lb he is picking it, nuts.

When I played, I couldn't stand playing on Heisman since it was so unrealistic. What I did is set it on All-American, but adjusted the settings to where it was a challenge, but not impossible or anything.

what settings do you have it on?
Other regret I have is no Masoli or Blount or JJ, not sure wtf they did but apparently not much thought went into our offensive players.

No clue....I just did things like made the AI on things like pass defense, run blocking, pass protection, etc better and dropped my ability in those areas for myself.
On Heisman I beat teams like 100-21. In my dynasties if you just recruit the fastest players you'll win games. Always move your fastest receiver to TE, start him, and wait for man coverage and get him on a post corner route and he'll be wide open everytime.

Yeah speed is way too overdone in this game, if a user is faster then you by a decent amount it gets tricky.
Heisman is tough with the missed tackles, but its hard to lose to the CPU once you get your stuff together.
Im a XBox 360

360. Haven't heard much about stopping pc. I'm also not a fan of taking advantage of system that way (moving people out of position). Remember old play station madden, just lob it 80 yards jump td lol.

I am missing something obvious I am sure... What is PC?
I dont move players to new positions other the shifting lineman.
If you have speed over your opponent the deep ball is there one one one. PA passing, crossing routes and screens are all gold.

I strictly use Oregon's team (shock). So far (still learning all damn plays/formations) most effective long ball is the quick wr screen from flex 4 or 5 wr set. Not even really a screen just do the math, three wr out, if only 2 defenders pop it out to Scott (#6, should be 8 assume they mean him).
As for PC, I just meant the AI you face. Even though I'm doing better against teams 'rated' (on game equal/less than oregon is) they still seem to have ungodly success. I have to have basically a perfect defense called on third down to stop them. Generating pressure is hit or miss for effectiveness. Maybe i'll play with settings, just a matter of time. Would prefer to suceed against toughest competition i just don't have consistency yet to do so. God forbid i go up against one of the 99 overall teams heh i'll get big12'd.... (sorry couldn't resist just kidding)

Man works better then zone on CPU for defense.

Oh ok. I am playing vs. the computer on PS2 so it may be different. I average 3 INTs a game since a 5'9" slow linebacker can jump my routes a lot, but I kick ass at defense. I am holding opponents to less than 140 yards per game and usually in the negatives for rushing.
One trick is that I recruit tall receivers since it is easy to play jump ball on a fly route. One of my best players won the heisman with a 98 speed and was 6'4" Simply unstopable.

We just bought this game for the 3rd time (damn kids keep scratching our games). This time I am playing wiht Hawaii trying to make them a power house and get them invited to the Pac 10. Man Hawaii as the lamest Playbook ever. It is the ACE,ShotGun, and Hail Mary. That is it I knwo this might not be a shocker to alot of people but damn man the team does not even have a punter at all on the team. Anyways I am trying to recruit a FB, HB, P and alot of upgrades and might just make my own play book for them.

Yeah I am stubborn and use the team playbook.
On a side note my Online Dynasties have faded off I am down to 2 now. So if we wanted to do one from here I could possibly do it.
Use RomanCaesar for rosters he does a great job for the 360

RomanCaesars owns Pastapadre roster like Big 10 opponents in BCS games.
