It shouldn't be the states decision to say who can or can't get married. I don't like Iowa, but I'm glad they did this.

States have the rights to regulate themeselves. I can understand for a state being forced to recognize a marriage from another state. However, states have th right to regulate things like marriage, driving requirements, gun laws, education, police forces, etc.

Only important if you worry about what is legal and what isn't. Fight the power :)

Umm, why should it matter? Iowa now, and Mass. and CA so far have the brains to figure this out. Don't put guns in this same discussion, Brad.

segregation was'nt right and neither is making gay marriage illegal. its a stupid law, and making it legal nation wide would only help the economy.

I am just saying how states have the right to regulate themselves with issues like marriage, like here is 16 with parental consent and 18 without, and other smaller issues in their own state. I personally do not care that much, but I don't think states should be forced to do it by a national law. SC already put it in the constituition that it is illegal, however, I think that if it happens in another state, then it should be recognized.
