personally my belief is that politicians are too scared to offend the hispanic vote...and IF Jan Brewer were to run for President or get picked up on a VP ticket, i think the rednecks would go to the polls in record numbers to keep the illegals out...

i dont know why the government keeps dropping all this money into 'electronic monitoring' of the boarder. what they need to do is put signs up along the boarder with mexico in english, spanish, portugese, and whatever else they speak south of the boarder (not just mexico, all the countries in central/south america, because its not just mexicans) every 20 feet or so that says "NO TRESSPASSING...TRESSPASSERS WILL BE SHOT ON SIGHT"...i dont think there would be much of a problem finding people who will patrol the area for free...

if they have the signs at Area 51 and armed patrols, why not do it to stop illegal immigration...there are places to cross legally, if you dont do it there, you are liable to get shot, thats just how i look at things...

She is right. The Reps in power before the Dems were scared, and now the Dems in power are scared, of losing the Latino vote. I support Arizona, and I wish all states would join in the fight, as many have.

Having said that, I hate people who do nothing so they don't offend a group. We need to protect our border, and define the plan for dealing with those who are already here. We need to fix Medicare cause right now way too many people are on it compared to those who are paying in/the monies that have already been paid.

Weed should be legal, Online gambling should be legal, the only law regarding selling beer should be related to age, not based on day or time.

its quite cheap to 'secure' the border, just put up signs and call it 'huntin season' at no cost to the government many will be stopped, and once they see the violence taking place people will stop coming over...

Sure that will work because that border is the only way in. Anytime you make a comparison with us and the Nazis it should send a red flag that maybe it's not the right choice.

All that plan would do is incite a race war and foster hatred and we would still have illegals. It's not just that border and Latin Immigrants either. We can't stop immigration it would help a ton if the legal process did not take years to complete.

i know its not the best way to go about it, but its true, and yeah its not 'politically correct' in any sense of the word, but the government has dumped well over $300 million into high tech video survellience along the Arizona/Mexico border, but due to the heat, landscape, and sand/dust storms it doesnt work, and trust me, there are many people willing to patrol and shoot at people crossing in unauthorized areas :salut:

Hunting illegals is not a solution. It is the cause of an even bigger problem.

I don't have any expertise but the idea of a stone wall makes sense to me. I do think the biggest part is making it very difficult to hire illegals. And if you get caught hiring one, you get a very stiff penalty.

Also think we would be wise to eliminate the "born in America, automatically American" policy. Really think we need to ensure illegals are not getting benefits from government programs. Possible exception is kids under 16 being on Medicaid, but I'm not sure.

Walls never work as a long term solution history shows that.

Our economy needs illegals to do some of the jobs it keeps our prices lower. As long as opportunity for success is better here then elsewhere they will find a way in. Best way to stop the flow is to build the economies of other nations.

best way to stop it is to stop the illegal employment, which wont happen, as background checks arent done for employment in many cases...also stolen id/paperwork can get them a job...

also, andy, there is talk about changing the 14th ammend, but likely wont happen...

as a citizen there are places i wont go for fear of being shot, and its illegal to shoot people...i sure as hell wouldnt go somewhere where it was open season on me...

i know i am not the most refined person here, but if i were dictator, id call it open season and the problem would at least slow down...

back in high school the teacher was talking about ghandi and passive resistance in india, how a person would lay on the railroad tracks and stop the flow of perishable goods...he didnt like my answer of 'how, 1 guy isnt going to derail a train, people get hit all the time' so he tried to explain how the next day 2 people would show up and lay on the tracks, so again i explained to him 'cars frequently get hit by trains, doesnt derail them, 2 people wont stop the flow of goods'...so he tried to say that others wouldnt want my goods because im was killing innocent people, so i explained the problem to the food shortage and hunger problem by killing off the stupid people, and delivering food to the needy'...
