Fun time I got there about 445 for the auto session at 530. Well all of the players did not come out for it. Anyways got all of the auto's from the players that attended and also got some more before the start of the game. Also I left after the 1st inning. Why you might ask well the game did not start until after 8 due to the rain delay. Anyways here are some auto's.

you must have gotten them in Birmingham...I went the next night to Rome to do auto's and see the game...they didn't have a formal autograph session there but they all signed...I got to the game late and they were sold out of the programs...I wanted to do a team-signed program as well but ended up getting my cards signed (I had 5 sets of the USA National/Jr. Nat. sets along with some Tyson Ross cards - one of the sets was for the guy who I list on ebay for). The Rome "Mafia" security people were trying to keep us away from the players after the game (a bunch of turd-heads) but many of the players stopped and signed leaving the clubhouse. Alvarez called out some dude who he had signed a bunch for before the game when he tried to get him again afterwards but he was cool to us...did you get any of the "Vanderbilt" multiplayer cards signed (with David Price, Alvarez, Casey Weathers & the Head coach)...I'm going to hopefully see Weathers in 2 weeks as he's playing at Asheville...David Price will be around plenty once he signs his contract to chase for auto's.

How many of the players were actually at the organized signing? Just curious about that.

Jason

The signing was disorganized as you can imagine. They throw together two tables and when the players got there they didnt have pens or markers or anything to sign with. I always bring my markers with me for that simple reason. Also only about 12 of the players showed up for it. I was able to get some more on the field before the game started.

As far as cards I only got 2 signed of each of the above. I did not think about getting any of the team cards signed. I thought that Price would be in the majors before he came through here again. Also I totally forgot about Ross being in a previous set. I should have done more homework before I went. But all in all it was a good time. All of the players seemed real nice except for the one I wrote down the wrong jersey # for. But oh well mistakes happen:lollol:. If you have any questions let me know.

Thanks
JM

Oh yea it was in Birmingham at the Barons Stadium

I don't remember who it was but there was really only 1 guy the other auto 'hounds' were griping about as being tough (I think he was ducking the auto'ers before the game somewhat)...a few of the guys didn't sign after the game but most were cool...Alvarez signed the longest period of time but wasn't signing huge quantities for everybody...Jordan Danks and Roger Kieschnick were extremely cool...I was teasing Danks about the U. of Texas being a sorry school and he was cracking up about it. It would have been nice if Jemile Weeks wouldn't have gotten hurt before the touring began...it would have been one more guy to get stuff signed for before he starts acting like his brother (Richie) and being a turd about signing.

Jordan Danks and Roger Kieschnick were extremely cool... That statement is very true. They set at the end of the tables together and would sign for about anybody and talked to everyone that came through. Hamilton was also a good signor.

Also I had a questions I forgot to ask. Did they charge you all for the programs? Cause they were free in Bham. And yea I wished that Weeks was there to since they put him on the cover of the program.

I don't know if they were charging for the programs or not...when we entered the stadium, I asked about the programs and was told they were all out. I'm hoping to see Weeks this year at Ga. Tech (I THINK U. of Miami comes to GT for a series as they didn't go there last year). I'll be having to hit UGA as well for a game (probably against Vanderbilt if they come)...I'm out of Alvarez stuff but I know it won't be a problem to get more cards of him -- I will be trying to get the head coach on the 4-player Vandy teams to HOPEFULLY finish them up (I'll be seeing Weathers in the next week or so and am hoping that David Price starts at Columbus).

Sounds like a good plan. I might take a trip to Vandi to get some more also. I need to get down to Columbus to get Desmond's auto!

To be honest, I'm really suprised that Desmond J. is still at Columbus...he's been doing better and better as the year has progressed...he was pretty nice the 2 times I've seen him in person...his auto has shortened up just a little bit already since the Bowman 1st came out (and once that happens, you KNOW it's never going to get any neater).

I feel the same way about D Jennings. I think that he should have been promoted by now but hey he plays for the Devil Rays:( I have heard from all of the local people in Bham that he has always been a nice guy so I just hope that continues through his career.
