I think I'm gonna buy a new one at Best Buy and do a switcheroo.

Have fun with that seeing as how the receipt prints out the serial tag for each system and they check it:doh:

You wont be able to. They scan the barcode on the xbox itself. So when you switch them out, the numbers on the xbox arent going to match those on the receipt, and they will know what you did.

Which is why I just filled out the form for them to send me my "coffin".

2 and a half weeks with no XBox...ohhhh boyyyy.

well you could still do Best Buy.........if you have a Best Buy card, buy one and return it after you get yours back. A friend of mine had his break three times and on the third time he was livid, so he "rented" one from Best Buy.

Oh that's a good idea. How do you get your money back? You just go and say "Eh I don't like XBox 360, heres my reciept and the system." And they give you your money back?

He went in and said that it wasn't working properly and this is the second time he has tried a 360 and that he just wanted the credit put back on his account, they can't deny if you have the receipt.

Right there with you mine died on Sunday . they said there shipping me a box for it . got my orig. Sept last yr it died Nov. got a new one back in to me about Jan. and this one died now come on . they need to fix these things right.

This is why I have not purchased one. Good luck with the next one. I hope they do fix em cause I wouldnt mind owning one.

Wow, a lot of people seem to have this happen. What is it exactly? Does it just stop working? I can't understand why that would happen since it is built a lot like a PC and PCs don't just stop working after a few months like that.

Anyone have a link? I wonder if it's a hardware or software failure.

That is why I waited until the new release in August and the price drop. New version....no red lights:cheers:

Sorry to hear it though. I had countless numbers of friends having the same problem which is why I stuck with my PS2 until the new versions.:D

Sooooooo is this only the first gen 360s? They are all under warranty right?

I think originally it was first gen for 1yr, then the prob went past that so I think its models made within the 1st 2yrs of production and the warranty got extended to 3yrs.
