Ron Zook is still a bad X's and O's coach. Today's announcers couldn't stop spewing their praise about how Zook is proving to everyone this year that he is a great coach as well as a great recruiter.
Then Zook made a great "coaching" decision. Illinois stopped Iowa early in the fourth quarter on a third down, making it 4th and 5, giving them the ball back with a 6-3 lead. But, there was a holding penalty, and Zook, being that great X's and O's coach he is, took the penalty giving Iowa 3rd and 15 rather than forcing them to punt and getting the ball back. Nice call Zooker!!!
Iowa then completed a 29 yard pass on the next play, and drove downfield for what ultimately became the winning touchdown.
I mean seriously, anybody on these boards could have figured out that it's better to get the ball than to give the other team another shot at 3rd down. What could possibly have been going through his head?
